KYC/AML compliance practices

You should know who you’re working with, and so should we. That is why we apply know-your-customer (KYC), know-your-business (KYB) and anti-money-laundering (AML) practices in our advisory relationships, in line with what is expected of a virtual asset service provider (VASP/PSAV).

What KYC is and why we ask for it

KYC means verifying who our client is. It protects each client, Maverick and the wider ecosystem against fraud, identity theft and misuse of crypto assets.

Documents we may request

  • Individuals: valid ID (for example, a Guatemalan DPI or a passport) and contact details.
  • Companies (KYB): incorporation documents and identification of legal representatives and ultimate beneficial owners.

Anti-money laundering (AML)

We may decline to start or continue a relationship if information is incomplete, inconsistent or shows warning signs.
