What USDC is: an educational guide for Guatemala
USDC (USD Coin) is a stablecoin issued by Circle, designed to stay close to 1 US dollar and backed by reserves the issuer reports publicly.
How it works
Like USDT, USDC circulates on several networks (for example, Ethereum and Solana). The sending and receiving networks must match.
How it differs from USDT
The two have different issuers, different reserve and reporting policies, and they aren’t always available on the same networks. Understanding these differences is part of our education.
Main risks
Issuer and reserve risk, temporary drift from the peg, network errors, and the issuer’s ability to freeze addresses.
